Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: February 5, 2026

Americans For Non-Profit Transparency (AFNPT) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the de facto standard recognized by courts interpreting ADA Title III as it applies to websites.

Measures We Take

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios throughout the site (targeting WCAG 2.1 AA minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
  • ARIA labels on interactive components, buttons, and navigation elements
  • Alt text on all meaningful images
  • Responsive design that functions across screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200%
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second
  • Form inputs with associated labels and clear error messaging
  • Skip-to-content navigation for screen reader users

Known Limitations

  • Some third-party embedded content (external PDF documents from government databases) may not fully meet accessibility standards
  • The interactive investigation map uses a canvas-based visualization that has limited screen reader support — equivalent information is provided in text form on the same page
  • Older PDF documents sourced from government databases may not be fully accessible — we are working to provide accessible alternatives

Compatibility

  • The Site is designed to be compatible with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • The Site is designed to be compatible with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  • The Site is designed to function with browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
