Corrections Policy
We hold ourselves to the same standard of transparency we demand from the organizations we investigate.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
AFNPT is committed to correcting errors promptly, prominently, and transparently. When we get something wrong, we fix it and tell our audience exactly what changed and why.
Correction Process
Minor Factual Corrections
Errors in dates, dollar amounts, titles, or other discrete facts are corrected in the text with a correction notice appended at the top of the article, stating the date of correction, the original error, and the corrected information.
Major Corrections
Errors involving core claims, conclusions, or characterizations include a detailed editor's note at the top of the article explaining what was wrong, how the error occurred, and how it has been corrected.
Retractions
Articles with fundamental errors that cannot be corrected through amendment include a prominent retraction notice with a full explanation. The original text is preserved with strikethrough formatting for transparency.
How to Request a Correction
If you believe any factual claim in an AFNPT investigation is incorrect, please contact us with:
- The specific article URL and the claim you believe is incorrect
- The correct information with supporting documentation
- Your name and contact information (for verification purposes only; we do not publish correction requesters' identities without permission)
Email: corrections@afnpt.org
We review all correction requests within 48 hours and respond to every request received, regardless of whether a correction is warranted.
Corrections Log
